About me

A few years ago, I went on what was supposed to be a magical family trip to Disney with my little ones, who were just 2 and 3 at the time. Instead of magic, it quickly turned into a nightmare.

During nap time, my husband and I had to stay completely still with them, because with all the noise and excitement they wouldn’t fall asleep unless they were in a quiet space. On top of that came endless diaper changes, hungry children with no tables available for meals, and a stroller that wasn’t comfortable enough for a full day at the park. And since strollers weren’t allowed in attraction lines, we often had to manage two toddlers running around or melting down, while waiting 40 minutes for a ride.

They were stressed, I was overwhelmed, and we desperately wished we had an extra hand. Someone who could stay with them during nap time, take them for a walk during long lines, or simply give us a moment to sit down and share a cold beer in peace.

Disney is magical, but it’s also a big investment and it’s heartbreaking to spend all that time and money without truly enjoying it.

That’s why, when I moved from North Carolina to Florida, I decided to use my background in marketing, planning, and early childhood education to create Play & Care. Our mission is simple: to help families truly enjoy their vacations not just manage meltdowns.
